Lithium hydroxide is primarily used as a raw material in the lubricating grease industry, as well as in the dyes and battery industries.
SQM produces lithium hydroxide at the Salar del Carmen facilities, near Antofagasta, Chile, from solutions with high concentrations of lithium coming from the potassium chloride production at the Atacama Salar.
SQM also produces butylithium in its own plant located in Pasadena, Texas.
This product finds application in various industries like lubricating greases, dyestuffs,
batteries and in the manufacturing of Lithium downstream derivatives.
