Speedfol™ Pulses SP Increases Net Income up to 48% for Soybean Farmer in India.

On 11th July 2012, at the agricultural research station in Adilabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, a field trial was set up to study the effects on soybean resulting from foliar sprays with Speedfol™ Pulses SP (11-10-34 + 0,3% B + 0,3% Zn), foliar sprays with Ultrasol® K, and foliar sprays with water only, at 50% and 100% of the recommended dose rates. The experiment was laid out as a randomized block design with 24 plots in total: 6 foliar treatments and 4 replicates. In total 3 sprays per treatment were applied: before flower initiation, at flowering stage and at pod initiation stage. The results clearly showed a positive effect of Speedfol™ Pulses SP and Ultrasol® K on plant height, days to 50% flowering, pods per plant, 100 seed weight, dry matter, and, overall seed yield (Table 1). The 100% Speedfol™ Pulses SP treatment had a statistically significantly greater yield compared to the 100% and 50% water sprays.

Incorporating the yield data with cost of cultivation and cost of treatment resulted in Cost:Benefit ratios to select the most economic feasible spray solution. The highest net return (+48%!) compared to 100% water only (control) was observed for 100% Speedfol™ Pulses SP which also had the best Cost: Benefit ratio (Table 2).
