Second version of Experiencia E, leading event in electromobility, renewable energies and sustainability

Santiago, October 2023 – Experiencia E, the most important electromobility, renewable energy and sustainability event in the country, was inaugurated with great fanfare and the presence of Transport and Telecommunications Minister Juan Carlos Muñoz as Honorary Chairman.

From October 12 to 15, Espacio Riesco became the epicenter of innovation and sustainable mobility, with several distinguished exhibitors and more than 30,000 visitors over the four days of the event.

In this second version, the fair grew 35% compared to last year, with close to 100 exhibiting brands, 12,000 m2 of exhibition space, 22,500 m2 of outdoor space, four test tracks and exclusive launches.

“This fair was born to show how we envision the future through experience, where sustainable mobility is already a reality and we can get closer to learn more about it and appreciate its benefits. That is why we had tracks to test drive the electric vehicles, in addition to talks and many educational activities to promote and scale sustainable development,” explained the executive president of Experiencia E, Eliseo Salazar.

 

New models arriving in Chile

Mazda took advantage of Experiencia E to launch its new flagship CX-90 SUV. This model is powered by a turbocharged 3.3-liter inline six-cylinder engine, coupled with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. It also showcased the new Mazda CX-60, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid.

Meanwhile, JAC unveiled its new range of electric vehicles, led by the E-JS4 SUV. This model was featured alongside a commercial vehicle and a city car, both also 100% electric. JAC is looking to fully breach the world of electromobility and offer competitive and affordable alternatives for its customers.

Nissan Chile joined Experiencia E for the first time and presented the Nissan LEAF model, a 100% electric vehicle that reflects the brand’s commitment to cleaner, more efficient driving. In addition, the company exhibited the new Nissan X-Trail e-POWER, which expands the offer of electrified vehicles in the country with its innovative and exclusive technology. Visitors had the opportunity to test drive and peruse technical information on both models.

Volvo Car Chile exhibited its electric model C40 Recharge, with a zero emissions range of up to 444 kilometers. The brand strives to become a 100% electric manufacturer by 2030 and has developed a comprehensive strategy to promote zero-emission mobility in Chile.

For its part, Suzuki continued to promote the democratization of electromobility at Experiencia E with the new Grand Vitara Hybrid. This iconic model returns in hybrid format, featuring the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki system, which improves the SUV’s efficiency without requiring user intervention.

And Haval was present at Experiencia E with its successful range of hybrid vehicles, including the Jolion Hybrid and H6 Hybrid models. These hybrid SUVs offer outstanding performance and efficiency, along with a exceptional safety and connectivity.

Another brand making a repeat appearance at the electromobility fair was MG, exhibiting the MG 4, a 100% electric hatchback with 5 Euro NCAP safety stars and a range of up to 450 km WLTP. MG expects to launch this model in Chile in 2024, making it a competitive and attractive option in the market.

Hyundai, represented in Chile by Grupo Gildemeister, presented its latest advances in technology and electromobility, in addition to its line of eco-friendly cars, including the award-winning IONIQ 5. It also officially introduced Spot, the world’s most advanced quadruped robot.

These are just a few of the surprises from Experiencia E 2023.

“We are very motivated to bring the future of sustainable mobility to the community and to generate opportunities to move towards being a carbon neutral country,” explained Michele Pefaur, manager of Experiencia E.

In this context, the Experiencia E 2023 Professional Forum was held on October 12 and 13, with the central theme of Sustainable Mobility: The power of agreements.

Over the course of four days, the forum offered a series of lectures, as well as panel discussions and debates that addressed key issues in the field of sustainable mobility and committed goals. Renowned experts shared their knowledge, perspectives and experiences on the future of electromobility and renewable energies.

The main focus of this event was the signing of a public-private agreement to promote electromobility in Chile. More than 100 public and private stakeholders presented a declaration of commitments to society and the Energy, Transport and Telecommunications, and Environment ministries.

Diego Mendoza, chairman of Experiencia E 2023 and secretary general of ANAC, remarked that “as a sector and as sponsors of the fair, we have been working for months for this version of Experiencia E to generate opportunities for joint collaboration between public and private sector players, which would allow us to make concrete advances and significant impacts on sustainable mobility in the short term, but also incorporating new actors in significant alliances such as those arising from the public-private agreement for electromobility.”

 

Family friendly event

In addition to the auto show and the forum, Experiencia E also had several activities to teach about sustainable development in a way that was fun for the whole family.

Enel X Way took full advantage of this opportunity to distribute information on the latest news and trends in electromobility and renewable energies. As the official smart charging partner for electric vehicles at the event, they provided 10 Juice Box chargers and a fast charger for the pit area, inviting people to try out cars from the most important manufacturers in Chile and to live the full electromobility experience.

Isa Intervial, a leading company in the sector, launched together with CONASET the podcast “Autopistas,” an audio book of the Driver’s Manual. This initiative was designed to support people studying for the driver’s exam or looking to refresh their knowledge.

Meanwhile, executives from SQM, one of the world leaders in lithium production and a company that has made concrete commitments to sustainability, participated in conversation panels, addressing actions to contribute to the transformation and migration towards electromobility. In addition, at its corporate stand it presented the winners of the latest version of the open call More Lithium Less Footprint, who explained to the public their solutions combining lithium and sustainability.

Relitia, a company dedicated to recycling lithium ion batteries, presented its innovative technology for recovering materials to be reincorporated into the production chain of new batteries. This circular solution contributes to reducing the environmental impact of used batteries.

In other areas, Natural Energy, a Chilean company specializing in portable tooling, lighting and solar energy solutions, exhibited its hyCLEANER® solar panel cleaning robot. This autonomous machine is an expert in photovoltaic systems and guarantees efficient and safe cleaning of solar panels.

E-Mobility, leader in the light electromobility segment, exhibited two new products: an electric bicycle for delivery and a NIU charging station for electric motorcycle batteries. These solutions are designed for the B2B segment and last mile logistics.

ABB E-mobility surprised fairgoers with several innovations, including Terra 360, a public charging station for electric cars that offers a range of 100 kilometers in just 3 minutes. It also presented Terra home, a residential charging station with a luxury design to supply power from the vehicle to the home. In addition, ABB E-mobility moved up the launch of the HVC 360, a multiple unit capable of charging up to 4 buses or trucks simultaneously.

FLITFLIT, an electric micro-mobility company, was present for the first time at Experiencia E. At its booth, visitors learned about its innovative and sustainable B2B operational leasing service for last mile delivery.

Forum, the leading automotive lender in Chile, participated in Experiencia E as a strategic partner in the purchase of electric cars. It offered a financial product with special conditions that seeks to promote the use of eco-friendly transportation.

From academia, the Department of Electrical Engineering (DIE) from Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH) participated in Experiencia E with three outstanding technologies from its research centers. These included the first electric car charger developed in Chile, the “Human Power” experience that uses an electric bicycle to boil water, and the Apollo IV solar car.

In short, Experiencia E was a must-attend event for all lovers of sustainable mobility and renewable energies. Visitors enjoyed a close look at the sector’s latest innovations and technologies, while being able to test drive on the four test tracks and browse technical information on the different models presented.
